The South Region of the New Jersey Convention of States team loves our Veterans! Murn Myers, DC Team and RC Team, is always looking for ways to honor and serve our beloved NJ Vets. These service projects are also a great way to meet our fellow COS volunteers.

Recently, South Region volunteers held a food drive to benefit American Legion Post 252 in Williamstown, Gloucester County. The team provided three bags and three boxes of food, along with $200 in monetary donations. Post 252 maintains their food pantry throughout the year for local Vets in need, an opportunity for the South Region team to help on a regular basis.

Murn has been majorly instrumental in the growth of the New Jersey team’s participation in Wreaths Across America every year. Her passion for this cause is contagious, and it has led to more people each year joining this service project in honor of our fallen veterans. What started out as a South Region service project has grown to include North Jersey COS volunteers also.
Additionally, Murn has spearheaded the involvement of COS volunteers in the annual placement of American flags at the graves of veterans in our local area for Memorial Day. We show up rain or shine! An added bonus is getting to meet our local NJ Legislators and Senators, as many of them participate in this activity organized by the Mount Holly Joint Veterans Memorial Committee.
COS South Jersey recognizes that Veterans have sacrificed so much for our country and for our local communities. May God Bless our Veterans! |
