Mike Richter was born into a proud military family at Carswell
Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas, and spent the early years
of his life in England. After his father retired from the Air
Force, the family settled back in Fort Worth, where Mike
graduated from high school and chose to serve his country by
enlisting in the United States Air Force.
Following his military service, Mike used the GI Bill to attend
Texas State Technical College (TSTC) in Waco, Texas. He
worked in a variety of roles within the construction industry
before securing a position with Western Oil Company, where
he remained for nearly a decade. During this time, he met his
wife, Laura, in San Angelo, Texas. Together, they raised three
sons and are now proud grandparents to five grandsons and one
granddaughter.
Mike later began working for UPS in Mesquite, Texas, where he served faithfully until his
retirement in 2021. That same year, he began volunteering with Convention of States Action,
where he continues his lifelong commitment to service—this time through grassroots efforts to
preserve liberty and restore constitutional principles.
Mike currently serves as the Veterans Coalition Director for Convention of States Texas, as well
as the Regional Director for Senate District 2, helping to lead, equip, and inspire volunteers
across the state to take an active role in self-governance and defend the freedoms enshrined in
the U.S. Constitution.
