| \\ \\ \\ \\ {{:public:cb_mirror:files_29866_pdfto001.png?nolink&918x1188|}}\\ \\ Mr. Chairman \\ \\ The Founders never intended for a centralized Federal government to dominate civil society the way this\\ one does. The states who gave birth to this nation, must re-assert their role in Constitutional \\ governance.\\ \\ For decades, Washington DC has seen itself as the center of America. Every time there is an election \\ where the people send a message of unhappiness with Washington, we hope things will change. The \\ track record of making change in DC from inside of DC is dismal.\\ \\ Presidential elections have become existential battles about who gets to control the country for four \\ years. Our country is split and there is almost non-stop acrimony around politics. Why? Because too \\ much gets decided in Washington and not in the States.\\ \\ For decades, the branches of the Federal government have been conducting a non-stop, on-the-fly, run \\ away Constitutional Convention. There is no part of our lives that they have left untouched or \\ unregulated. Congress had to pass a law last year telling the feds they couldn’t outlaw gas stoves! While \\ there may be current attempts and promises to try and change some of that, no action by any executive \\ order will result in the structural re-balancing that must take place to restore the government of our \\ Founding.\\ \\ You, as State legislators, have the power in your hands today to restore this government of We the \\ People. Please vote to have Montana join 19 other states, in calling for a Convention of States to \\ PROPOSE amendments for consideration by the states that would:\\ \\ ●\\ \\ impose fiscal restraints on the federal government\\ \\ ●\\ \\ limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government\\ \\ ●\\ \\ impose term limits on its officials and members of Congress\\ \\ An amendments convention is not the end of the process. Any amendments proposed still must clear \\ \\ the super majority threshold of 38 states to be ratified. This process is a much safer alternative to what  \\ has gone on in Washington during our lifetimes.\\ \\ Thank you for the opportunity to address you today. Vote to take back your government. I request you \\ do the right thing and say yes to a Convention of States. Support {{:public:cb_mirror:ill name here?nolink&|}}
