COS Georgia has created a grassroots team that works to preserve our Federalism, Freedom, and Fundamental Rights.

|On March 6, 2014, the Georgia State Legislature passed the Convention of States (COS) Resolution. Georgia then became the [[https://conventionofstates.com/news/georgia-becomes-first-state-in-history-to-pass-the-convention-of-states-application|first state in America to adopt this Resolution]] to:\\ \\ 1.    Limit the Power and Jurisdiction of the Federal Government\\ \\ 2.    Impose Fiscal Restraints on the Federal Government\\ \\ 3.    Place Term Limits on Federal Officials\\ \\ This was the spark that ignited the newly formed national Convention of States (COS) organization to achieve 19 passed states over the past years. It inspired the beginning of a political and spiritual awakening in America. \\ \\ However, when Georgia passed this Resolution, it was not the end of the journey for COS… it was just the beginning. The 2025 team focus will be MEGA: Make Engagement Great Again. A plan to be servant leaders to you...our new team members with training on the many resources available. We encourage you to be engaged in your part on the team as a social media warrior or district captain, a telepatriot or a legislative liasion.\\ \\ The Georgia Team immediately swung into action to grow a grassroots organization of volunteers to promote Federalism, Freedom, and Fundamental Rights within the State. \\ \\ For over 10 years now, we have been building and maintaining relationships with city and county officials and state legislators to help them pass legislation that the grassroots are aligned with.\\ \\ An example of some of the things we do as a passed state are:\\ \\ * Our Team of Legislative Liaisons identifies issues and legislation that align with COS’s core values. We then work with the legislators who support these bills to help them get them passed, such as:\\   * School Choice\\   * Certificate of Need\\   * Preventing COS Rescission Attempts\\ \\ * Our Leadership Team partners with other like-minded national organizations in Georgia such as the Heritage Foundation, Americans for Prosperity (AFP), and the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF).\\ * Energetic, hardworking, and knowledgeable teams are available to help Legislators looking for citizen support.\\ * Our TelePatriot Team is a group of dedicated volunteers who contact legislators and citizens by phone or text messaging to encourage them to support and vote for pending legislation that COS is supporting. These Georgia TelePatriots campaigns are a significant contributor to the success of our legislative efforts.\\ * Our Communications Team develops promotional material to create citizen awareness of the legislation COS supports. We educate citizens on the legislation itself. We promote the benefits. We build interest. We build support. We build enthusiasm.
