|Mark spends much of his time on the road - meeting with volunteers, getting to know people, and asking for feedback and ideas. He also meets with legislators to educate them on the benefits of calling an Article V Convention.\\ \\ When speaking to Maryland's small but mighty group, Mark said his favorite part of the job is meeting volunteers from every state. He loves to hear how things are going and wants to know what more is needed. Mark reminded us that we volunteers offer hope. In his words, “Article V gives us a path and a method to make a difference.” As volunteers, we “provide a rescue service” for those who feel lost but want to create change. There is hope. There is a way out of the chaos. YOU can make a difference. Mark sees the volunteers as the heart and soul of the organization. And in Blue State legislatures like Maryland, face opportunities for creative solutions to make connections across the political spectrum.\\ \\ An Article V convention of the states is the “escape clause” from a powerful and oppressive federal government.  Our government works for us, “We the People”. The US Constitution places restrictions on Government, not “We the People”. The Federal Government has been operating unconstitutionally for far too long by usurping powers belonging to the states. “We the People” recognize this. Therefore, the Article V Convention of States (COS) movement was founded over a decade ago. The COS platform seeks to:\\ \\ 1. Impose fiscal restraints on the federal government.\\ \\ 2. Limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government.\\ \\ 3. Place term limits on Congress and federal officials.\\ \\ 19 states have passed the COS resolution. 34 states are required to hold the COS Convention. 38 states are required to ratify any amendments that come from the convention.\\ \\ #|PETITION_FORM{petition_tag:;coalition_id:}|#\\ \\ |
