Following a recent speech to a group of young Republicans at Harvard about life and family, many attendees asked Rick how they could get involved with COS and about the direction our country will go.\\ \\ Rick also traveled to Nashua, New Hampshire, this past weekend and spoke to an audience of around 100 people. Following his talk, 45 people signed the COS petition. Paul Phillips presents the information in an easy to understand presentation that will be so meaningful for you as you address issues with your legislator.  **Refer to this information frequently and often**.  \\ \\ Who better to share information with than your legislator? As fall moves into winter, and District Season into Capitol or Legislative season around the country, let's make sure we take advantage of our last District Season days (when you can find your legislator in their offices at home) and get in touch with them and let them know we are here to work with them. \\ \\ {{https://content.conventionofstates.com/cosaction-prod/public/content/images/101977/101977_original.jpg?40x40}}\\ \\ {{https://content.conventionofstates.com/cosaction-prod/public/content/images/101978/101978_original.jpg?200x189}}\\ \\ **District Captain Activity**\\ \\ **KUDOS to the Top Most Active DC teams** by % in our Regions - Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Mississippi. All 100% activity!  **Great Job teams!! **\\ \\ District Captain and Volunteer activity is an area we really need to focus on. Those activity/action reports are available to communicate to our donors all the great work each of you are doing out there in the trenches! It only takes a second to file an action report on your phone or computer or go into Citizen Builder and make a note. In 1764, the Colonists’ refusal to pay the British taxes for sugar and molasses helped spark the Revolution. \\ \\ \\ - As the Revolutionary War loomed, Colonists boycotted British tea, using chocolate instead. When the British cut off chocolate supplies during the war, the Colonists smuggled it with help from Royal Navy sailors.\\ \\ \\ - In 1775, the Continental Army began paying pirates known as “privateers” to raid British ships. By 1781, they employed hundreds of privateer vessels. Among the “rewards” were meats, liquors, and foods such as sugar beets, nuts, ginger, cinnamon, and other spices. The Continental Army sold the goods, gave the pirates a share, and used the rest to fund their efforts.\\ \\ \\ - On land, many soldiers relied on “camp followers,” such as sutlers, licensed vendors who sold an array of goods including stain glass, burnt almonds and other candy. Women and children also followed the troops, helping to cook the paltry meals.\\ \\ \\ - The Revolutionary army raided homes and villages, and foraged, on their own and as directed by Washington in 1778.
