He will also talk with Superintendent Walters -- a COS petition signer -- about his COS story and how he came to support the call for an Article V convention.\\ \\ Superintendent Walters won election to his post in 2022 with 56.8 percent of the vote in the general election. His candidacy was endorsed by, among others, Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt and U.S. senator Ted Cruz. Prior to his election, he had served as state Secretary of Public Education and worked as executive director of the education initiative Oklahoma Achieves.\\ \\ Superintendent Walters is a native of McAlester, Oklahoma, and was educated at [[https://www.harding.edu/|Harding University]]. He returned to to his hometown to teach Advanced Placement courses in world history, U.S. history, and U.S. government, in addition to special education courses and Advanced Via Individual Determination (AVID) classes at McAlester High School.
